Incessant rain has created havoc in Arunachal Pradesh and thrown normal life out of gear. Landslides and flash floods have been reported from throughout the state. Major rivers and streams are flowing above the danger level and posing a threat to those living in low-lying areas. The state government has deployed emergency response team and NDRF across the state to tackle situations.
In Itanagar, a huge landslide along NH 415 near Civil Secretariat has disrupted road communication within the city. Traffic has been diverted through a different route. Bagkhar circle in Tawang district has been completely cut-off from the rest of the world.
The surface communication to the circle was disrupted after a large portion of the link road between Bomja and Kharung was washed away due to landslide triggered by heavy rain. In West Siang District sudden rise in the water level of Yumgo River has washed away many structures and standing crops in the low laying areas. MeT department has alerted of more rains in the state.
