Rescue Operations underway

landslide image text book imagineryRescue teams have retrieved 46 dead bodies from the debris after massive land slide triggered on Manali-Pathankot National Highway in Kotrupi area of Mandi district in Himachal Pradesh, on Saturday midnight.

The rescue operation was suspended last night and it has been begins again today morning. In Dwada area of the same National Highway in between Mandi and Aut the landslides are triggering. Therefore the Kullu district authorities have issued advisory for people to remain be alert while travelling on this National Highway.

No one is the survivor from Manali bound Chamba depot bus and rescue teams have recovered 43 bodies from this ill-fated bus. This bus was 48 seater and it is feared that some more bodies could be there. Besides it some other private vehicle has been also washed away in debris.

Therefore the rescue teams of army, NDRF and Police are thoroughly searching the area. The authorities have identified 27 dead bodies so far and efforts are being made to identify rest.
