Hillwoods Academy hosted fifth edition of Model United Nations Conference HAMUNC on 24 and 25 November, 2018. The conference simulated five committees – United Nations General Assembly, Security Council, HRC, UNDP and All India Political Parties Meet. The opening ceremony was graced by Ambassador R. Rajagopalan, IFS (Retd.), who motivated delegates to take up global issues and find solutions through peaceful ways.

Ms. Nabila Jamshed from United Nations Centre for India and Bhutan urged the delegates to arrive at conclusions through discussion and as the future citizens of the world they need to come together to create a peaceful world.

Senior Journalist, Mr. Mahendra Ved also addressed the gathering and praised the young delegates for coming forth with innovative ideas and debating on important issues.

HAMUN Souvenir was released by dignitaries and the Head of the Institution. The five committees with their different agenda came out with resolutions which were widely covered in three newsletters ‘The Pulse’.

HAMUN witnessed participation of more than 200 delegates from prestigious schools and colleges of Delhi and NCR.

The closing ceremony was graced by Arun Joshi, AIR Producer and Correspondent and  Martial Bey, Primary School Director, French International School.  Arun Joshi who has attended many UN, CHOGM and NAM summits urged delegates to represent their country with pride and elation at global platform.

Prizes were given for High Commendation and Best Delegate for each UN Committee. Best School Delegation Award was bagged by Ryan International, Mayur Vihar.
