Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, is all decked up to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe. ​The two dignitaries are scheduled to visit the city tomorrow where they are likely to stay for nearly five hours.

Varanasi ​flaunts giant hoardings with welcome messages in English, Hindi and Japanese. Beautifully painted ghats and intersections are ready to accord a warm welcome to the two dignitaries.​ ​

A welcome hoarding carrying pictures of host PM Modi and Japanese PM Shinzo Abe has been installed at Godaulia intersection.

Top security officials of Japan examined the ghat, dais and also took stock of the security arrangements. Senior police officials of the district, including senior superintendent of police Akash Kulhari, also inspected security arrangements.
