PATNA : Senior BJP leader and Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitely today said that the Grand Alliance is an alliance of desperation. Talking to media here, Jaitely said congress was battling to save itself from extinction. Congress is nowhere in the state politics so it has made alliance with RJD-JD(U) to revive it. On the other hand, Lalu Prasad led RJD is in transition phase to transfer legacy of Party Chief to his two sons.

Critisizing Nitish Kumar, Mr. Jaitely said after making alliance with RJD, Nitish Kumar has sidelined agenda of development. He said Nitish Kumar is utilising his last resort of politics of opportunism.

Mr. Jaitely claimed popularity of Narendra Modi has influenced the elections and a large number of youths above caste and creed have excercised their votes in favour of BJP. He expressed confidence that BJP-led NDA will get two-third majority in the elections.

Answering a question on returning of awards by writers, artists and scientists, Mr. Jaitely said it is electioneering through other means. He said this politics of other means is a sign of desperation by vested interests. He blamed that this has happened for the first time because it coincides with Bihar Assembly polls.
