The G20 Agriculture Ministers meeting began in Hyderabad today. Over 200 delicates including Ministers of G20 member nations, invitee nations and heads of various research and development institutions are attending the meeting.
Minister of state for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Kailash Choudhary formally inaugurated an exhibition showcasing India’s agricultural know-how on the occasion. Speaking to the official Media, the minister said, the emerging modern technologies will immensely help farmers. He said, the advance technologies like drones will help farmers to yeild more. He stressed on the need for creating awareness about the new technologies especially among.
The three day meeting will deliberate on various issues like sustainable agriculture, women agriculture, world food and nutrition security among others.
There will be multiple side events in which in-depth and focused deliberations will be held on topics like Managing Agribusiness for Profit, harnessing the Power of Digital Technologies in Agriculture.
Top Indian agriculture-based companies, start-ups and state and central government agencies relating to agri-business companies are likely to take part in these deliberations. According to officials, the Ministerial meeting will also deliberate on Sustainable Agriculture for Food Security and Nutrition and women-led agriculture, sustainable biodiversity, and climate change solutions.
