The whole state of Uttar Pradesh would be locked down from tomorrow till 27th of March in order to contain spread of COVID-19. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced the big decision this afternoon. Earlier, only 17 districts were under lockdown.
In his announcement, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath asked for minimum mobility of people. People should confine to their places either rented house or hostel or any other place. They should not try to go to their native places. He appealed that people must avoid travelling. He said that government is taking all action to control Corona virus. He said, all the boundaries of state have been sealed and movement of buses in state have been shut down.
Mr Yogi said that government is trying to provide necessary items and commodities to people but they should avoid crowd at any cost. He said that 1 crore 65 lakh poor and stranded people will be given one month ration that include 20 kilograms of wheat and 15 kilograms of rice.
Mr Yogi said that 35 lakh labourers in state are being given 1,000 rupees in their account. The government has authorized District Magistrates to provide food items and financial assistance to the poor who are not covered under any scheme. He also appealed to the traders to not to over charge for commodities.
