Police say dozens of people were killed in an attack on a mosque in northern Nigeria. Many are blaming the extremist group Boko Haram, though police have not formally publicly speculated as to the motive for the attack.

According to reportsĀ  27 people have been killed in twin suicide attacks in Mubi city. Police said, the first blast took place at a mosque when worshippers gathered for afternoon prayers and as soon as they tried to flee, a second bomber detonated a device in a nearby market.

Mubi General Hospital’s Chief Medical Director said, 56 people were also injured. No group has yet claimed responsibility of yesterday’s bombings, but Mubi has suffered regular attacks by terror group Boko Haram.
