The Punjab government today granted 21-day parole to 1993 Delhi bomb blast convict Devinderpal Singh Bhullar. The decision came a day after it released former militant Gurdeep Singh Khera on parole.
Unlike the surprising release of Khera on Friday evening, Bhullar’s release was expected as he was under treatment for mental illness and doctors had recommended homely environment for improvement in his mental health.
It was the first time when he got out of jail on Saturday after his arrest in 1995. Bhullar had become eligible for parole last month only as Amritsar TADA court had discharged him from a TADA case registered against him in Batala in 1995.
