Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on Monday reiterated that incidents such as the Pathankot terror attack would continue to take place till the time the terror groups and attackers are not made to feel the pain which they inflict on others.

Speaking in the run up to the 66th Army Day celebrations in Delhi, Mr Parrikar said that every single soldier’s death pains him a lot.

He, however, said, sacrifice is always respected, but nation needs them to neutralise the enemy.

In a tough talk, Mr Parrikar said if those who damage us don’t realise the pain they inflict, then they won’t change.

He said this is his opinion and not of the state. Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar today made it clear to the armed forces personnel that the nation respects martyrs but it needs them to stay alive and fight the enemy.

He said the role played by Armed Forces in the recent Chennai floods was par excellence, against all odds.
