Curfew was imposed in Arunachal Pradesh’s capital Itanagar from 3 pm on Saturday till 9 am on Monday after violence erupted during the 48 hour-bandh.
Various local organizations had called for the bandh on the issue of granting Permanent Resident Certificate, PRC to non-Arunachalee settlers in the state.
Meanwhile, Home Minister Rajnath Singh spoke to Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu and discussed the prevailing situation.
Mr Singh urged the people to remain calm and maintain peace.
