The National Secretariat of the Communist Party of India issued today (March 19, 2025) the following statement:

The Communist Party of India vehemently condemns the Israeli airstrikes on Gaza conducted on March 18, 2025, which resulted in the tragic loss of over 400 Palestinian lives, including numerous women and children.

Since the escalation of hostilities on October 7, 2023, the Palestinian death toll has surpassed 62,000, with a significant proportion being civilians. This alarming figure underscores the severity of the ongoing conflict and is recognized as genocide against the Palestinian people.

CPI calls upon the international community, particularly the United Nations Security Council, to take immediate and decisive action to halt these killings and hold Israel accountable for its actions. The persistent inaction and silence from global bodies not only encourage the aggressor but also erodes the fundamental principles of international law and human rights.

CPI expresses its profound disappointment with the Indian government’s continued silence on this grave issue. India, with its historical commitment to justice and anti-colonial struggle, must not remain indifferent to the plight of the Palestinian people. We urge the Indian government to break its silence, condemn the ongoing violence, and actively support the Palestinian cause.

CPI stands in unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian people in their pursuit of freedom, justice, and self-determination. We call upon the people of India to raise their voices against these injustices, condemn the killings, and express their support and solidarity for Palestinian people.
