The Congress today demanded tabling of the survey done by the UNICEF on Child health in the country. Briefing media in New Delhi, party leader Jairam Ramesh said, the survey reveals that only 56 per cent children have been immunised in Gujarat against the National average of 65 per cent. Mr Ramesh alleged that in 29 states, where the survey was carried, Gujarat ranks 21st and it is reason why the government is hiding the survey.
Mr Ramesh said, states like Bihar and Jharkhand are ahead of Gujarat alleging that Narendra Modi’s model is only a whitewash. He also criticised the Centre for budgetary cuts in Integrated Child Development Services, Midday meal scheme and sanitation.
