Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today ruled out a CBI inquiry into the Professional Examination Board scam of Madhya Pradesh or Vyapam scam. Talking to media in Jhabua Monday, he said that the Special Investigation Team-SIT is investigating the scam under the supervision of the state high court. He said that a PIL regarding CBI probe into the matter has been rejected by the high court and the Supreme Court.

He said if the Supreme Court and the high court feel the SIT is not investigating the case properly and that a CBI inquiry must be initiated, the Madhya Pradesh government would be ready for it. Mr Singh said that the opposition is making an issue out of a non-issue. He urged that the matter shouldn’t be politicized. Union home minister said that politics should be based on right issues.

Madhya Pradesh government claimed that the alleged mysterious deaths in the Professional Examination Board scam have no link with the scam. Talking to media in Bhopal today, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Narottam Mishra and Forest Minister Gauri Shankar Shejwar said that Professional Examination Board scam is not a reason behind 25 suspected deaths. Accusing Congress of linking every death with the scam they said that deaths of Dean of Jabalpur Medical College Arun Sharma and police sub-inspector Anamika Kushwah have nothing to do with Professional Examination Board scam.

On the other hand, the state Congress President Arun Yadav said that the death of Anamika Kushwaha has link with the scam. Demanding resignation of the chief minister, he alleged that the family of chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is involved in the scam and people are being killed to destroy evidences. He demanded an independent inquiry or CBI inquiry under monitoring of the Supreme Court into the scam.
