Government has said all possible measures have been taken to control illegal influx from across Bangladesh border. Chairing the tripartite talks with a delegation of pro-talk faction of ULFA led by Arabinda Rajkhowa and Assam government in New Delhi today, Home Secretary L C Goyal said National Register of Citizens, NRC work in Assam will be completed in a time-bound manner. He said Centre attaches highest priority for early completion of peace process with ULFA.
According to an official release, the ULFA delegation sought effective guarding of the Indo-Bangladesh border to check illegal infiltration. The group also sought early completion of the peace process. During the meeting, the Home Secretary reviewed the progress made in talks with ULFA delegation. Later, the ULFA delegation called on Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju.
