Congress today alleged that BJP is trying to create atmosphere of provocation by introducing Yoga as a subject in government schools. Talking to media, party spokesperson Meem Afzal said in New Delhi that it should not be made a compulsory subject as some people might have objections on religious grounds.

Saying that Congress condemns BJP’s divisive politics, Mr Afzal said all religions have co-existed peacefully in the country for centuries. Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani yesterday announced that Yoga will be introduced as a subject from class VI to X in all central government run schools.
