The Janata Dal(United) and Rashtriya Janata Dal will fight the forthcoming Bihar Assembly elections together. Speaking to media in New Delhi, Samajwadi Party general secretary Ram Gopal Yadav said a three member committee will be formed by JD(U) and RJD to resolve the seat sharing issue.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and RJD Chief Lalu Prasad had a meeting with Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav at his residence in New Delhi to discuss the alliance. JD(U) chief Sharad Yadav was also present in the meeting.
Earlier in the day, Nitish Kumar met Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi at his residence. Both leaders are believed to have discussed possible alliance between the two parties.
