Five to six MLAs of the party have already decided to part way from AUDF.
Badruddin Ajmal has suffered a major jolt ahead of Assembly elections as he has lost backing of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind (JUH).

Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind (JUH) has dissolved Assam State unit replacing it with a 25-member interim council.

Political observers see the development as a serious setback to Ajmal, who was the president of Assam State unit of JUH. Party rebels have backing of JUH.

Ajmal supporter believe that it was conspiracy of congress to create divide in the AUDF.
Ajmal was not having good relation with chief minister Tarun Gagoi from the very beginning. CM managed  national president of JUH to sideline Ajmal.

The decision to dissolve the Assam State unit was taken at a meeting of executive committee on Tuesday. The meeting decided to dissolve the State unit and replace it with an interim committee. Mushtaq Anwar is proposed to be appointed as the new president of the Assam JUH.

Though no reasons were cited for dissolution of the State unit, Ajmal’s bid to use the platform of the JUH for political purposes led the executive committee to take the extreme step, sources said.

However, Ajmal’s camp has alleged that president of JUH Arshad Madani’s close relative, Asjad Madani was responsible for the latest development. Asjad Madani was on a week tour of Assam recently and during which he held a secret meeting with Chief Minister, Tarun Gogoi. State Minister Raqibul Hussain was reportedly in close touch with Madani.

Ajmal’s supporters alleged that it was during the visit a conspiracy was hatched to dissolve the State unit and Madani reportedly decided to join hands with Congress in Assam.

JUH, which loosely means Organisation of Indian Scholars is a very influential Muslim body and has huge support base in Assam. Given the antagonism of Ajmal towards the Congress Party, it obviously was nursing apprehensions over the possibility of Jamiat under Ajmal passing a dictat against the ruling party.

In 2008, JUH suffered a split, when Mahmod Madani and his uncle Arshad Madani parted ways following a power struggle. Ajmal had sided with Arshad Madani and was one of the most influential leaders of this faction.
