A team of Assam police led by ACP Pranjal Bora arrived in New Delhi today to probe the incident generated due to the controversial statement made by some leaders at a seminar on NRC at the Constitution Club held on Monday.
The City police team which included Investigation Officer of the case C R Buragohain, is likely to question the DACA office bearers and Jamiat-Ulama-e-Hind office bearers which booked the Speaker’s Hall of the Constitution Club of India, said sources.
The team may also question president of the Jamiat, Maulana Arshad Maadani, as cases have been registered naming him.
In Assam Police on Wednesday registered three cases against Maulana Syed Arshad Madani for allegedly making inflammatory statement inciting a particular community on the NRC update process.
