In flood-hit Assam, as the situation is gradually improving, the Assam government has stepped up medical relief measures.
Official in Guwahati said that, people have been asked to call helpline numbers 1077 and 104 for any medical assistance. At least one Health worker and a nurse have been deployed at each flood relief camp.
Special care has taken for pregnant woman, infants , children and elderly people at flood hit areas. Mobile Medical Units are also pressed into services. Jorhat Deputy Commissioner said that health as well as veterinary camps have been organised in the district.
47 medical camps were held yesterday at Golaghat where 1000 people had been treated. Medical teams are also being held at one of the worst hit Majuli district. ORS, Halogen tablets are being distributed in flood affected areas.
Nearly 15 lakh people are affected at 26 districts in flood.
