Andhra Governor Biswa Bhusan Harichandan spoke to Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy over phone today, and enquired about the status of the incidence of mysterious illness in Eluru in West Godavari district in which a number of persons were affected and admitted to hospitals.
The Chief Minister briefed the Governor that so far 467 people were affected due to the mysterious illness and they were admitted to various hospitals. He said, out of them, 263 patients have been discharged after recovery.
The CM informed the Governor that all necessary medical care is being provided to the affected persons on an expeditious basis. He said that the services of national-level Institutions such as National Institute of Nutrition (NIN), All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT), Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) were roped in to ascertain the cause of the mysterious illness.
