ALIGARH
The new surge in the cases of the COVID-19 infection and many patients coming to the hospitals in critical condition has caused a severe shortfall of ventilators in hospitals all over the country.
The availability of ventilators at the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University has however been made easier as two organizations have generously donated 6 non-evasive ventilators to the JNMC hospital, providing it with better medical facilities.
The Aligarh Care, Houston, USA has donated 5 ventilators while the AMU Alumni Association, Riyadh, KSA has made a contribution of 1 non-evasive ventilator at JNMC.
AMU Vice Chancellor, Professor Tariq Mansoor welcomed the donations made by the university alumni bodies saying that their contribution will strengthen the health care system at JNMC. He said AMU alumni all over the world deserve great appreciation for their support made by them from time to time.
Professor Shahid Ali Siddiqui (Principal and CMS, JNMC) thanked Ms Samina Kidwai (Secretary, Aligarh Care) and Engr Syed Mohammad Mutayyab (President, AMU Alumni Association, Riyadh) for their philanthropy, adding that the donated ventilators greatly help improve patient care system at the intensive care units.
