A woman got seriously injured in Pakistani shelling in Bhimber Gali sector of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir, today. In yet another incidence of ceasefire violation, Pakistan army resorted to mortar shelling and firing in the area along the Line of Control, LoC targeting forward defence locations and civilian population. The woman got injured when a mortar from Pakistan side landed in her house.
The shelling prompted an effective retaliation from the Indian troops. Defence sources said that Pakistani troops started unprovoked shelling in the area around 4 am. Intermittent exchanges continued till 11 am. Some cattle have also been perished and buildings have been damaged as Pakistani forces used small, medium and automatic arms and heavy mortars in firing.
