Indian Air Force has informed that two pilots of the crashed Sukhoi 30 jet have not survived. Both the pilots had suffered fatal injuries, when the aircraft crashed nearly 60 Km from Tezpur Airbase on 23rd of last month.
The Defence Ministry in a statement yesterday said, analysis of the Flight Data Recorder and certain other articles recovered from the crash site revealed that Squadron leader D Pankaj and Flight Lieutenant S Achudev could not initiate ejection before the crash.
The wreckage of the aircraft was earlier located on 26th May after continuous search operation in the area.
The aircraft was on a routine training mission as part of a two aircraft formation. A court of Inquiry has already been ordered to investigate the cause of the accident.
