Filing of nominations has begun for the local body polls in Nepal, . Polling for 283 local bodies in the first phase will be held on the 14th of this month.

With the filing of nominations, process of holding local elections in Nepal after almost 20 years has been started. Since morning candidates in 34 districts of 3 provinces are filing their papers for first the phase.

In the capital Kathmandu a large number of people are filing nominations. One of the youngest candidates, 21 years old Ranju Darshna ,submitted her papers for the post of mayor. Nominations will be scrutinised in next two days and names can be withdrawn on Thursday.

The final list of the candidates will be issued on Friday. In the first phase, polling will be held for 283 local bodies on May 14. Elections for remaining 461 local bodies will be held on June 14.
