More than one million people in the United Kingdom, have signed a petition urging the Government to call off US President Donald Trump’s state visit to the UK, amid a row over his recent immigration measures.

The petition, on the Government’s official petitions site, calling for Donald Trump to be prevented from making an official state visit to the UK had reached more than one million signatures needed to be considered for a debate in Parliament.

However, Prime Minister Teresa May’s office confirmed that she would not be withdrawing her invitation to the US President because it remained substantially in the national interest.
