Madhya Pradesh has been declared the Best State for Comprehensive Development of Tourism. The award for this was given at a function organised by Union Tourism Ministry here.

MP tourismThe award was given by chief guest and Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan and it was received by M.P. Tourism Minister Surendra Patwa. Union Tourism Minister Dr. Mahesh Sharma was present on the occasion. Managing Director of M.P. Tourism Development Corporation Hari Ranjan Rao was also present on the occasion. In all the state bagged five awards in the field of Tourism.

Apart from this the state also bagged four other awards in the field of Tourism. The state bagged award for developing Amarkantak as Best maintained and Disabled friendly monument. The state was also declared as the joint winner in the categary developing Bhopal as the best heritage wald.

The state also bagged. Best tourism guide award for Mr. Jiwan Jyoti Pateria Khajuraho and a joint winner for developing most innovative Unique Tourism Project Art Ichol at Maihar by M.P. Tourism.
