naddaThe Centre has launched Rotavirus vaccine as part of Universal Immunization Programme to prevent child mortaility due to Rotavirus diarrhoea.

Launching the vaccine at a function in Bhubaneswar, Union Health Minister J P Nadda said, the vaccine is initially being introduced in four States which are Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Odisha. He also informed that it will be expanded to the entire country in a phased manner.

He said, the introduction of Rotavirus vaccine will enable the government to directly address the problem of diarrheal deaths.
