RijijuGovernment has said that the controversial sedition law is under review of the Law Commission. Minister of State for Home Kiran Rijju told Rajya Sabha that the ambit of the present sedition law was very wide and needs amendments.

Responding to a question in Rajya Sabha, Rijiju informed the House that the Law Commission has been asked to review the sedition law as its ambit is “very wide”.

He also informed the house that the Law commission has been asked to speed up the review.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh added that an all-party meeting can be considered to discuss amendments to or the deletion of sedition laws after the Law Commission report is submitted.
