Aligarh: A team of Aligarh Muslim University, AMU doctors under the banner of SOCH …beyond the imagination left for relief work in flood affected Chennai.
Flagging of the team, the Aligarh Muslim University Pro Vice Chancellor, Brigadier S Ahmad Ali (retd) appreciated the efforts made by Team SOCH (AMU students run social organization) in serving the humanity. He promised to help the team in all possible ways.
He added that the AMU students are always at forefront in helping those in need.
Professor Tariq Mansoor, Principal, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital (JNMCH) said that AMU Doctors are doing great jobs not only in hospital premises but also in the time of disasters.
Former MLC and Congress leader, Mr Vivek Bansal said that this good work by team SOCH should be brought out in notice to everyone. He added that SOCH members should be felicitated for their nobel work.
Dr Kashif Razi said that SOCH is in touch with AMU Alumini Association, Chennai and other NGOs working in the flood affected areas of Chennai. He further said that the AMU doctors have been dispatched to work in interiors of Chennai, where medical help is not easily available.
Talking about SOCH’s commitment to humanitarian works, Dr Danish Suhail and Amood Gulzar pointed out that SOCH members have already worked in disaster areas of earthquake-hit Nepal, riot-hit Muzaffarnagar and flood-affected areas of Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir.
Dr Mohd Rafey, Secretary, Resident Doctors Association, who is also part of the team dispatched to Chennai, said that SOCH members will join their seniors working in flood hit parts of Chennai.
Prof Suhail Ahmad Siddique, Dr Suhail Sabir (Provost, Habib Hall), EC member, Mr Azhar Zameel were also present on the occasion to boost the morale of the SOCH team.
The SOCH team, which left for Chennai has Dr Kashif Razi as the Team Leader accompanied with Dr Danish Suhail, Dr Mohd Rafey, Dr Saurabh Pathak, Dr Nahim and Mr Amood Gulzar
SOCH members Dr Saleem Mohammad Khan, Faraz Murtaza, Shantanu Varshney, Adil Naseer, Furqan Khan, Sartaj Alam, Shawez Khan, M A Javed were also present while the team left for Chennai.
