Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today met President Pranab Mukherjee in New Delhi over his allegation that Congress party is allying with the terrorist organisations in state and trying to disturb peace in the state.

Earlier in the day addressing a press conference in New Dehi, Mr Badal alleged that Congress is spreading unrest in Punjab.

He said Congress has encouraged terror as the party could not fight Akali Dal politically. He alleged that Punjab Congress leaders were present at a rally supporting Khalistan.

Meanwhile, Congress has rejected charges by Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal that it was supporting radical and anti-national forces.

Briefing media in New Delhi this evening, party’s Deputy Leader in Lok Sabha Amarinder Singh said Mr Badal is trying to justify the failures of his own government on the law and order front, and people know the truth why he came to Delhi.

He said Punjab Chief Minister is frustrated with the growing popularity of Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi in the state.

The Congress leader questioned why Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal is not meeting people and assuring them.
Mr Singh alleged that drug addiction is rampant in the state and youth are jobless.

He said 12,000 acres of crops have been destroyed because of spurious pesticides bought by Government.
He also said purchase of paddy is well below the Minimum Support Price, and due to this many farmers have committed suicide.
