Union Minister for Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Uma Bharti has said that the rejuvenation of Yamuna would also be carried out under a special work-plan like the Ganga river.
She said the plan is being prepared by a special group, comprising Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana, where Yamuna is most polluted. Speaking during a visit to Vrindavan in Uttar Pradesh on the occasion of Janmashtami, Ms Bharti said apart from tackling the problem of pollution in Yamuna, a proposal to provide a minimum water level in the river is also under consideration.
