Gujarat Bharatiya Janata Party minority cell leader and former member of central Haj Committee Ilyas Khan Pathan and his son Asif were shot dead late last night in Rajkot.
Police sources said that another son of Ilyas Khan Pathan was also seriously injured in the incident.
According to primary investigation, several miscreants attacked Ilyas Khan Pathan and his two sons when former came back to his residence at midnight. His two sons, Asif and Akbar came out from the house to save his father where Asif was killed in the attack.
Another son Akbar was seriously injured and admitted in the local hospital. Three persons including one accused injured in the incident, have been arrested by the police. Old rivalry in connection with property dispute is said to be the reason behind this attack.
