At least 68 Indian nationals have been taken into custody at a detention center near Seattle in the US state of Washington for allegedly crossing into the country illegally. According to the media reports, the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement(ICE) department said about half were detained in the last one month while they tried to sneak illegally into the United States from across the border. External Ministry officials said that the Ministry has asked the India’s Mission at Washington to collect all the detail of the incident. Satnam Singh Chahal who is the director of US-based North American Punjabi Association, NAPA obtained that information from the ICE, said most detainee are hailed from Punjab.
