Vice President C P Radhakrishnan today released 16 books published by the Publications Division of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in New Delhi. They include 14 books in the Tamil Language and one book each in Hindi and English. The book release event was also attended by Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting Ashwini Vaishnaw and Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Dr L Murugan.
Addressing the gathering, Vice President C P Radhakrishnan appreciated the efforts of authors for their contribution to Tamil literature and spreading it across the globe for future generations. He added that the books released today will inspire the youth to connect with India’s culture. The Vice President also paid respects to Bankim Chandra Chatterjee, the author of the national song Vande Mataram.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Vaishnaw said that Tamil Culture is recognised as the most unique culture in the entire world. He emphasised that the book release ceremony reaffirms the commitment of the government to honouring the cultural heritage of India, along with the development of the country.
Talking exclusively to Akashvani News, Principal Director General of Publications Division Bhupendra Kainthola said that the 14 Tamil Language books released today are based on Tamil culture, music and agriculture. He appealed to people to purchase and read the books released today.
