Uttar Pradesh government has released Rs 500 crore more for the farmers whose crops have been affected by unseasonal rain and hailstorms. The amount will be distributed among the farmers of 58 affected districts in the state. Principal Secretary Revenue, Suresh Chandra said, the state government has sanctioned Rs 2,454.55 crore for distribution of relief among the victims. He said, more than Rs 1,593 crore have been distributed so far.
In most parts of eastern Uttar Pradesh, distribution of relief amount is almost complete. Most of the victims has been given the relief amount. For Gorakhpur district, over Rs 16.69 crore has been sanctioned. More than Rs 16,23 crores has been distributed so far to the 43,229 farmers of 144 affected villages. In most affected Gola Tehsil of Gorakhpur district more than Rs 9.59 crore has been distributed to 2103 farmers of 54 villages. In Sadar tehsil, which covers a major part of the urban area 19 villages were found affected. 4194 farmers were given about one and half crores as relief amount.
Similarly in other tehsils also, farmers are getting the relief amount, on one hand and started preparations of Khareef Crop, on the other hand.
