A court at Muzaffarpur in Bihar today ordered police to file an FIR against Union Minister Giriraj Singh for his controversial remarks on Sonia Gandhi. A Congress worker had filed a complaint against Singh for his remarks against Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
The Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate directed Mithanpura police station to register a case against the minister on the basis of the complaint. She gave the order to Mithanpura police station under Section 166 of IPC.
The Congress also took to streets stepping up its demand for sacking of Mr Singh staging protests in Ahmedabad, Delhi and also in Bengaluru where BJP leaders have gathered for its National Executive meet.
The BJP says it considers the matter closed as the minister has expressed his regret. The Minister had kicked up a row with his remarks asking whether Congress would have accepted Sonia’s leadership had she not been white-skinned.
Meanwhile, in Gujarat, women members of state Congress have staged a protest at Laldarwaja area of Ahmedabad against the racist remarks of Union Minister Giriraj singh. Congress workers- shouted slogans against Giriraj Singh and demanded his resignation for his remarks against Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
In a statement, Gujarat State Women Congress president Mrs. Sonal Patel said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should remove Giriraj Singh from his council of Ministers immediately.
