Governor Janaki Ballav Patnaik administered the oath of office and secrecy to the new Chief Minister at the Darbar Hall of the Raj Bhavan here.
The 75-year-old lawyer-turned politician Tarun Gogoi is the 14th Chief Minister of the state. After being re-elected as the CLP leader, Gogoi had announced that his Government would mainly focus on economic development, tackling unemployment problem and restoration of peace in the State. He said, the responsibility of the Government has increased manifold as the people of the State have supported the Congress overwhelmingly with more expectations to bring the party to power again.
Later talking to media the Chief Minister said economic development, solution of unemployment problem and restoration of peace in the State would be his high priority area. He said the responsibility of his new Government has increased manifold as the people of the State have returned the Congress party with comfortable majority for the third consecutive term.
