In flood-hit Assam, 4.95 lakh people are reeling under the fury of floods in 22 districts. One person lost his life due to floods at Tamulpur. Several major rivers are flowing above the danger level in Lower Assam. Over 14 thousand people are taking shelter at 83 relief camps. NDRF, SDRF and SSB have been pressed into rescue works at various places. Several Ministers have visited the flood-affected areas today to take stock of the situation.
