Prime Minister Narendra Modi has welcomed the inauguration of National Technology Centre for Ports, Waterways and Coasts at IIT Madras. The Role Model centre was established under the Sagarmala program at a cost of 77 crore rupees. It will also provide solutions to challenges in the maritime sector through scientific support, education, applied research and technology transfer at the local, regional, national and international levels.
Responding to a tweet by Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, the Prime Minister expressed confidence that it will strengthen the growth of India’s maritime sector.
In another tweet, Mr Modi also applauded the people of Badalpara Village, Somnath for welcoming Saurashtra Tamil Sangamam guests like family where the villagers have gathered to welcome the guests and arranged dinner for them.
