NDPP legislature party will meet in Kohima, Nagaland today to elect its leader. The ruling NDPP and BJP retained the power in the state with comfortable victory.

Secretary General of NDPP Abu Metha said that as declared earlier the present Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio will continue to be the Chief Minister of the state.

But a formal decision will be taken in this regard in due course. Mr. Metha said that the agenda of the NDPP and BJP government will be peace and development. He thanked the voters for keeping faith on the Rio government.

Mr. Metha further mentioned that NDPP has full faith on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP’s central leadership.

BJP national Spokesperson Nalin Kohli has said that the people of Nagaland have given their mandate in favour of the development works of the government under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi. He assured that the NDPP – BJP government in Nagaland will continue the development process on priority basis.

Meanwhile, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) has said that the decision to join the new government in Nagaland will be taken by the party central leaders.

Addressing media persons at Dimapur today, LJP National General Secretary Dr Ajay Kumar Pandey said that the decision of joining the new government of NDPP and BJP alliance lies with the party parliamentary board.

Dr Pandey said, despite the party being not part of the government, they have decided to contest in the state election and the people of Nagaland had blessed them with two seats.

He said, the party will form a North East cell in Nagaland to look into the welfare of the people particularly the youth.
