Ladakh Lieutenant Governor RK Mathur virtually launched the distribution of property cards under the SVAMITVA scheme in Leh. Government’s Flagship scheme SVAMITVA aims to provide an integrated property validation solution for rural India through the demarcation of rural abadi areas using Drone Surveying technology.

Ladakh is implementing SVAMITA scheme after due completion of procedure including agreement sign with the Survey of India on 25th of May 2021. Lieutenant Governor RK Mathur advised the official functionaries to complete not only Abadi areas but also entire Ladakh region.

Being border region, officials have to work in close coordination with air force as well as army beside routine collaboration with police, panchayat, villagers and councillors of the region. Property Card to thirty households of two villages of Leh District have been distributed on the occasion of good governance day in Leh.

LG RK Mathur said that the scheme and property cards are token of respect to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his birth anniversary.

He termed SVAMITVA a people-oriented scheme of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that would benefit the people of Ladakh. He said, english is also added to the existing Urdu language in land records to make more people-friendly.

While LAHDC Kargil Chief Executive Councilor of Kacho Feroz Ahmad Khan and Member Parliament Jamyang Tsering Namgyal participated virtually, LAHDC Leh Chief Executive Councilor of Tashi Gyaltson attend the function.
