No matter how many debates and discussions are going on within Congress and NCP, both parties are all set to support a Shiv Sena led government in Maharashtra. either cordially or reluctantly as the two parties will not get better chance than this to rule the the most crucial state of the country.
Meanwhile Maha politics took a new turn on Sunday as Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari invited Shiv Sena to indicate the willingness and ability of the party to stake claim.
The party has been given deadline of 7:30pm today, to stake its claim to form government. Amid fast paced developments, within the party and the two key players Congress & the NCP.
Sena has walked out of the National Democrartic Alliance. Party leader Arvind Sawant who is the Union Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises also announced his resignation.
Maharashtra witnessed a stand-off between the Sena and its ally BJP over power sharing after the two parties won simple majority in the October 21 assembly elections.
“Nothing like it if the BJP gives the Shiv Sena chief minister’s post. But if the BJP is refusing, an alternative can be given. But the Sena should declare that it is no longer associated with the BJP and NDA. Alternative can be provided after that,” NCP chief spokesperson Nawab Malik said.
As Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Shiv Sena showed signs of a potential alliance to form government in Maharashtra, Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam on Monday said that the political instability in the state cannot be ruled out.
The Congress leader also asserted that early elections are likely in Maharashtra and raised a question on contesting future polls with Shiv Sena as a partner. “No matter who forms govt and how? But the political instability in Maharashtra cannot be ruled out now. Get ready for early elections. It may take place in 2020. Can we go to the elections with Shiv Sena as a partner?” he tweeted.
