India were all out for 274 in 76 overs
England will resume its second innings at 9 for 1, on the third day of the opening cricket Test against India at Edgbaston, Birmingham. Yesterday, visitors were all out for 274 in 76 overs in reply to England’s first innings score of 287.
Sam Curran took 4 wickets for England.
Hosts had a 22 runs lead over India when stumps were drawn on the second day’s play with Alastair Cook being the lone English batsman to fall in their second innings. R Ashwin took his wicket.
Meanwhile, Indian captain Virat Kohli became 13th Indian cricketer to score 1,000 runs against England after he scored 149 runs in the first innings.
Earlier in its first innings England made 287 opting to bat first. Ashwin bagged four wickets as hosts lost six of its players for just 69 runs in the final session of the first day.
