Deputy Election Commissioner Vinod Zutshi told media in New Delhi that the polling was peaceful and incident free. He said that one case of poll -boycott has been reported as the local people in their area have registered a protest for not constructing a bridge. He said that 22 preventive arrests had been made to ensure law and order during the election.

 

State Election Department said, that six presiding officers and eleven polling officers were removed from West Midnapur and Bankura districts due to illness. Besides altogether, 26 electronic voting machines were replaced due to technical snag.
