Seven Naxalites including three Deputy Commanders and three women have surrendered recently in different parts of Gadchiroli district, in Maharashtra which is considered as a Naxal hotbed. They carried together the prize money of 30 lakh rupees for their arrest, informed District Superintendent of Police Mr. Sandeep Patil at a press conference held in Gadchiroli last evening.

These Naxalites were found to have been involved in many encounters and incidents of violence along with arson and looting in different parts of Gadchiroli district as well as adjoining parts of neighbouring Chhattisgarh State.

With this, the number of Naxalites surrendering in the district this year has gone up to 35.
