Security forces gunned down 4 militants in Tinsukia district of Assam, today. Tinsukia SP Mughdya Jyoti Mahanta told media  that a joint team of police and army launched offensive at Bathoi village under Bordumsa police station. Mr. Mahanta who led the operation confirmed that among the slain militants, one was belong to ULFA -Independence faction while the other three were NSCN- Khaplang militants.

He said that search and combing operation is still on to ascertain if any other militants are hiding in the village. Security forces suspected that a few militants managed to escape to neighbouring Arunachal Pradesh. One AK- 81 rifle, two pistols, army camouflage along with ammunition have been recovered from the slain militants.
