Surjit Kar Purakayastha said in Kolkata that the incident occurred at Sipchu near Darjeeling at Jalpaiguri district border when GJM supporters started brickbating targeting the police. Later security forces opened fire to bring the situation under control. AIR correspondent reports that several police personnel including Sub Divisional Police Officer of the area were injured in the clash.
