As many as 1,38,355 various government posts are lying vacant by 31st March, 2016 in Odisha, Finance Minister Pradip Kumar Amat said in the State Assembly yesterday in response to a question of Congress member Naba Kishore Das. The Minister furnished this information based on the Annual Establishment Review conducted for the year 2015-16.
The Finance Minister informed the House that many posts have filled up by this time and contractual postings are being done against vacant posts for essential and emergency services. He however stated that the Odisha government would have extra annual burden of 3,500 crore rupees when all these posts would be filled up.
