The opposition parties in Tamil Nadu have decided to hold a mega public rally against NEET in Tiruchirappalli on coming Friday.

Following the death of the MBBS aspirant Anita in Ariyalur on the first of this month, demonstrations are being held by students and other organizations throughout the state against the qualifying test.

In this backdrop, the opposition parties had a meeting in Chennai today, organized by the DMK working President MK Stalin.

It was attended by the state leaders of the Congress, the Left, the DPI, the IUML, the MMK and the DK. Later, they passed resolutions expressing condolences to the student who took her life after failing to get admission for MBBS, despite having a good score in Plus-Two public examination.

The opposition have condemned the state and the central governments saying, they gave false hopes till the last moment and finally imposed the test on the students.

They have also decided to organize a united show in the form of a public rally in Tiruchirappalli on coming Friday.

The resolution says the rally is to voice their opposition to the NEET and to insist on securing Presidential assent for the two legislations passed by the state Assembly seeking permanent NEET exemption for the state.
